I met Rosina & Nick of LAL while they were in the middle of a tour in India. Rose blessed me with the latest LAL Album on CD and we all had a great conversations about life and art. When I mentioned to Rose I was travelling to Goa, she recommended an amazing place where travelling artists congregate, teach, share and relax called Art Escape. When I got back to Toronto I began listening to the album almost on the daily and began to wonder how this sound would translate live. Rose gave me a heads up of an upcoming show and it worked out that Giles and Jerisse were able to shoot that night. This show was filmed @ CIneCycle which was an interesting location. CineCycle was small and quaint perfect for this event. I really wanted to play with the look and gave it a warmer feel as if the viewer was actually there. It was a great first show of 2012 and made me feel excited for the year to come.

Buy your tickets on Wednesday at least 2 weeks before departure.  A pilot told me once that Wednesday was the day the fares drop and thus far, that’s been true! Make the actual purchase on the airline’s website.  This way if you mess up on the date or time, you have 24 hours to change it without a fee. Pay with Bill Me Later.  This line of credit through your PayPal usually offers you 6 months no interest on individual purchases over $99.  That way you can take the time to pay for each ticket because they have their own deadlines. Stick with the same airline. Don’t settle for a cheaper ticket and use a random airline. Stick with the same ones and rack up miles.  If you’re not a frequent traveler this doesn’t apply.   Save miles for international travel.  Whether you rack them up through travel or credit cards, don’t use miles domestically.  Gary Leff, the airline saving expert, taught me that.  Read his blog and follow him on twitter @GaryLeff for the best deals before you travel.
